Today, the Catholic Church still encourages the veneration of saints through their relics. “When a feast day occurs, I put out a relic in the church,” says Father Zepecki, who previously served as pastor at St. Aloysius Church in Southington. “I’ll talk about the saint and invite people to come up and venerate the relic, if they wish.”
